Scarlett O. Lu
Section 1 Ambassador
Scarlett is a high school student at Havergal College, committed to expanding youth civic engagement, public discourse, and democracy education. She is a national and international award-winning public speaker, debater, writer, and mock trial competitor who holds teaching and executive roles across various speech institutions, such as Lead Trainer at SFL Youth Development Organization and Coach at LinkedKey Enrichment Center.
Beyond competitive speaking, Scarlett is deeply engaged in advocacy and service. She is the founder and President of Period Unlimited, a youth-led non-profit advancing menstrual equity, and has volunteered for legal organizations such as Justice for Children and Youth and Chagpar Personal Injury Law. Through political canvassing at both the provincial and federal levels, she has worked closely with elected officials and community members, shaping her perspective on civic participation and informing her work with Section 1.
