Evan Saperstein
Educator and Adjunct Professor, William Paterson University and Bergen Community College
Dr. Evan Saperstein is a high school social studies teacher and an adjunct professor of educational leadership in New Jersey. He also has taught several history courses at William Paterson University and Bergen Community College. Additionally, Evan served as a postdoctoral fellow in the citizenship education and history teaching research lab at the University of Montreal.
Evan’s research interests include global citizenship education, social studies education, experiential learning, curriculum development, and pedagogy. Over the past few years, Evan has published several peer-reviewed journal articles and presented at education conferences. He has written opinion pieces for Education Canada, The Conversation, Star-Ledger, Montreal Gazette, and other outlets. Evan also has been republished by Yahoo News, MSN, and several leading newspapers, including the National Post, Financial Post, Toronto Sun, Edmonton Sun, Vancouver Sun, Calgary Herald, Star Phoenix, and Windsor Star. In addition, he has been interviewed on an EdCan Network podcast and radio programs hosted by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) and voicED Radio.
Evan holds a Bachelor of Arts (with Great Distinction) in History from McGill University, a Master of Arts in Modern European Studies from Columbia University, and a Doctorate in Curriculum, Teaching, Learning and Leadership from Northeastern University.
