Jaden Braves, a 16-year-old student based in Toronto, is the Founder and CEO of the Young Politicians of Canada, empowering youth in democracy. He is the Chair of a federal party’s youth wing and is the youngest Federal Councillor in Canadian history. Additionally, Jaden is the Senior Director of YATA-NATO Canada. He was named Top 10 Canadians Under 18 by the Federal Government, CFC and KPMG and will be a TEDx Speaker. Jaden is currently working on democracy innovation with the Future of Democracy Center at Cambridge University.

Jaden is Coordinator  of Section 1’s forthcoming initiative, S I D E (Students In Democracy Education) Students’ Attitudes to Civics Education. S I D E will involve young people around the country in forming their own Section 1 democracy groups and in leading their own conversations focused on learning together – and teaching their friends and neighbours – what Heroic Citizenship really means and how they can actualize it in their own lives and communities.
